DefinitionA silhouette is, "the dark shape and outline of someone or something visible against a lighter background, especially in dim light." Silhouette photography is simply taking a picture of a silhouette. You would position your subject in front of a light source and then take a picture of the dark shape in front of the lighter background. In silhouette photography the photograph is backlit making the subject appear as a dark shape. Originally, in the eighteenth century, silhouettes were primarily used as portraits in the profile view. The name silhouette came from a French finance minister, Étienne de Silhouette because silhouettes were the cheapest way to record someones appearance. Silhouettes were also used in artwork and illustrations, shadow theater, and movies. ExamplesIdeas
People say I am a "nice, Christian girl" and that I am very quiet and funny. My friends and family say that I am nice, sweet, and quiet, yet very sassy and talkative. My friends and family know that I am a Christian and also that I am very artistic and creative. This is all true but most people, besides my close friends and family, do not realize how talkative I can be and how long I can tell a story or continue on a conversation. I do not think that a lot of people know how much I love art and music or that I play three instruments and have a good eye for design. Most people do not know these things about me because these are my hobbies outside of school.
